I´ve always loved chocolate (like, who doesn´t?), but I´m not a fan of all the sugar, unnatural ingredients and the negative effect it has on my health. That´s one of the main reasons I created the Fudgy Cacao Chia Bar - to get the great taste but without all the funk! Today I´ll share how you can make something very similar at home, no baking needed :)
These healthy chocolate chia balls are gooey, rich and tasty, and reminds me of a brownie in taste. It takes only 10 minutes to throw together, so this is perfect to make if you have guests coming over. Today is also the official "Chocolate Day", so what better time to give it a try? :D
Heres how to make my Chocolate Chia Balls:
- 10-12 medjool dates (about 200 gr)
- 2 TBSP chia seeds
- 50 gr almonds (about 100 ml)
- 20 gr walnuts (about 2 TBSP)
- 30 g cashews (about 3 TBSP)
- 2.5 TBSP cacao (preferably raw cacao)
- Pinch of pink Himalayan salt (or other salt)
Add all ingredients to a kitchen machine or mixer with cutting blades. Run until a sticky dough forms. If it´s too sticky, add a little more nuts, if it´s too dry add a date or two more. Roll into balls and cover with more cacao, or have them as they are. I made half rolled in raw cacao, and half without!
